It looks like I might be having my first issue since the warranty ran out. What is the most common, the dimmer switch in the dash or?? THX

its the HUD and from hat ive read yours sounds like its doing hat mine does , but mine has to be for a long time to dim

the photo cell on the hud has cold solder joints and is causing the problem , fix is remove the hud and resolder the photo cell

you know, i remember reading about that once. i searched the tech tune for HUD and didn't see anything. THX for reminding me about that.

i forget hat section it as in on clubgp

its a easy fix , its harder to get the hud out , ive still gotta do mine , i gotta do my radio as well

Eric is correct. My sisters GP was doing this. I resoldered the photocell, and BAM! I think its even brighter now! lol

I've removed and re-soldered that photocell twice now. The last time was early spring this year. I put it under the scope at work and removed all the solder and added new. It has been bright and not dimmed until last month it started going out and oscillating bright/dim. I've taken the dimmer switch apart and cleaned too. If I get the ambition to loose more dash clips, I'll try to get some resistance measurements and find a part to replace the cell with or just get a new HUD. The "fix" works but may not be permanent.
